Pros: Excellent for classical music...especially with high quality headphones.
Cons: A little tricky to setup in Linux: Type 'alsamixer', hit F6, go to 'analog out', select what you want. BINGO!

Wonderful Sound and totally worth the price11/25/2018 1:46:55 PM
Pros: I bought this for my machine that I use to do studio work (IE make music), and as far as I can tell it has improved the sound quality of my desktop greatly.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Highly recommend for anyone looking to buy their first sound card before upgrading to a possible better card.
Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: works in all linux flavors , sounds amazing
Cons: this card has a major flaw in Linux , it defaults its output to the spdif connector and not the rear of the card my fix was using my computers case sound connector and hooking it to the card itself . Would have been nice if asus informed you of this in their specs before I bought the card so if linux is your game just beware , took me a week to figure out why the card would not work , at 1st I almost RMAed it .
Overall Review: Have not tried this card in windows , but in linux music and games sound very nice , ( I despise windows 10 ) This card sounded way better then my cheep onboard realtek 897

Exceptional sound, great product that I would recommend9/1/2018 5:03:33 AM
Pros: - The device installed on system boot with no prompting and required a single reboot to be up and running with full surround capabilities.
- Plugging in my Logitech surround speakers and testing I immediately noticed the clarity and crispness of the sound quality when comparing to the onboard sound.
- The light background hiss that is common with onboard sound and cheaper cards was not there when no audio was playing, just dead silence.

- The light background hiss that is common with onboard sound and cheaper cards was not there when no audio was playing, just dead silence.
Cons: - The software that came with the device for setup is pretty much useless. It seems to conflict with Windows 10 and for the most part the profiles you create seem to do nothing.
Overall Review: - I did not have any of the BIOS issues that people mentioned were common with this card.
- I disabled onboard sound in BIOS after installation and testing as a preventative measure to prevent any future conflicts.
